

83 Trees on Mission Hill
With the help of a second grant from Mission Hill Fenway Trust we were able to increase the number of trees planted to 83. The map of these plantings and list of trees planted are attached as pdf’s. The trees are marked with numbered white stakes, and each has a tree protector around it. The majority of the trees are Shag bark hickories. Back of the Hill Update for 2020
Over the past two years we were successful in stopping a mountain bike path that would have degraded the terrain and destroyed indigenous and planted trees and shrubs. Paths and jumps were blocked with tree trunks, limbs and brush. Control of invasive Norway maples continued especially in the area at the top of the sight known as the terrace which was part of the bike trail. Bittersweet and wild grape vine were kept in check.
