Just a memory...

The majestic Cottonwood at the base of the Oscar-Parker community garden is pictured above at daybreak on the morning of March 19, 2021; the day of its destruction. Its death sentence was not announced or discussed. Clueless institutions signed off and paid the several thousand dollars required. It was heart breaking to those who appreciated its ecological benefits to the air, soil and Baltimore orioles who returned each April to nest there. The city of Boston desperately needs a tree ordinance that protects important trees whether on private or public property.
